About C-Leanship
C-Leanship is a Danish cleantech company delivering underwater inspection, hull cleaning, propeller cleaning and niche area cleaning to the global shipping industry. Our ShipShiner ROV system for hull cleaning works on a zero-discharge model. Removed fouling is captured rather than released into the port, so vessels can be cleaned in terminal and at anchorage during normal port operations without disrupting schedules. Our NCPS Propeller Cleaner cleans propellers alongside the terminal, with no need to shift to anchorage.
We have built a strong position in the container segment. Now we are entering our next growth phase. We are taking our services into the wider shipping market, with bulk carriers and tankers as key segments, and expanding our network of service hubs to serve more of the world’s major ports.
We are headquartered in Køge, Denmark, and operate service hubs in Singapore, Busan and Panama. We work with leading shipowners, vessel operators and vessel paint manufacturers. We are backed by Saab Ventures, Wallenius and EnvisionTech.
The role
We are looking for an experienced sales professional, a hunter, to win new international customers, grow our markets and secure new framework agreements. As Senior Sales Manager you will be one of the most senior commercial voices in C-Leanship. You will own a defined territory and a set of strategic accounts. You will open new international customers and convert first jobs into framework agreements that deliver recurring revenue.
You sell on value. You translate regular and correct cleaning into what our customers measure: fuel cost, CII rating, regulatory compliance and the lifetime of the coating system. You do this credibly with every stakeholder, from Superintendent and Performance Manager to Head of Fuel Efficiency, Technical Director and C-level.
You report to our Chief Commercial Officer, Lasse Urth. You will work closely with Operations and Operational Excellence to make sure that what we sell is delivered to standard. Through your own way of working, you will help set the standard for how C-Leanship sells and raise the bar for the wider sales team.
What you will own
- Identify, qualify and win new international shipowners, operators and ship managers within your territory and target segments
- Book and lead high-quality meetings, build the business case together with the customer, and close
- Start small and prove the value: win first deals and first cleanings with new customers, then use the results to build trust across the fleet and make the business recurring
- Grow share of wallet with the customers you open, expanding to more vessels and into inspection, propeller and niche area cleaning, reporting and data services
- Lead complex, multi-stakeholder sales processes through to framework agreements, while handling shorter transactional deals with pace
- Negotiate contracts and pricing in line with company pricing policy, securing agreements that work for both the customer and C-Leanship
- Keep a disciplined pipeline and full account visibility in HubSpot, and report on activity, forecast and results
- Prepare quotes, take bookings for cleanings and inspections, and coordinate with Operations to secure flawless execution
- Work with Operations, Operational Excellence, Product and Management to resolve customer issues and improve customer experience
- Track regulation, market trends and competitor activity across the ROV and maritime sector, including IMO biofouling guidelines, CII and port requirements, and turn that insight into territory plans
- Contribute to the commercial strategy and represent C-Leanship at customer meetings, industry events and exhibitions
What success looks like
- First 30 days: full command of our services, technology and customer base. Key relationships are established across your portfolio, with close working ties to Operations and the sales teams in Denmark, Singapore and Korea.
- By month three: your first cleaning deals are closed in your own name. Your pipeline is built, growing, qualified and visible in HubSpot, and you have a clear plan and stakeholder map for your first framework agreement.
- By month twelve: your first framework agreement is signed. Customers recognise you as a trusted advisor on biofouling management and vessel performance. You are an active voice in our commercial strategy and a visible benchmark for how we sell.
What we are looking for
- At least 7 years of international B2B sales experience, including at least 3 consecutive years in solution or value-based sales within the maritime or shipping industry
- A proven track record of winning spot deals and initial business, ideally with shipowners, operators or ship managers, and turning them into recurring business through framework agreements or long-term service contracts
- Experience selling to both technical and commercial stakeholders, from Superintendents and Performance Managers to C-level
- A strong interest in the maritime industry, or a bachelor’s degree in business, international shipping, maritime transportation, engineering or a related field. A shipping trainee education is also relevant
- Experience from an international, multicultural organisation and from a CRM-driven sales environment
- Commercially sharp and results-oriented, with a high and sustained sales drive
- A credible communicator who adapts style and argument to each stakeholder
- Analytical and data-driven, comfortable building a business case on fuel and emissions data
- Structured, proactive and able to work independently across time zones
- A start-up mindset: hands-on, robust and comfortable with change, with the energy to build from scratch and thrive in a fast-growing company
- Fluent written and spoken English
Nice to have
- Knowledge of maritime SaaS, hull performance, biofouling, coatings or vessel efficiency
- Additional Asian languages, for the Singapore-based position
Why this role is different
This is a senior, visible commercial role in a scaling cleantech company. You will have direct access to the management team and real influence on how we grow. You will sell a technology with a measurable impact on fuel cost, emissions and ocean health, in an international environment spanning Denmark, Singapore, Korea and Panama. We offer a competitive salary and commission package that reflects your seniority and experience.
Where you will work
Køge, Denmark, our HQ, or Singapore, our Asia Pacific base. The role is full-time and permanent, with around 10–20 travel days a year.
